Pedestrian Turnstiles
Pedestrian turnstiles provide controlled, one-person-at-a-time entry for buildings and facilities that require strict access management. Our range includes tripod turnstiles, full-height turnstiles, and high-speed glass wing speed gates for different security levels and throughput requirements.

How Pedestrian Turnstiles Work
Tripod turnstiles use three rotating arms mounted on a central vertical shaft. In the locked state, the arms block passage. When a valid access credential is presented — such as an access card, fingerprint, or QR code — the control board releases the locking mechanism, allowing the arms to rotate 120° to admit one person. The mechanism then re-locks automatically after passage or after a timeout period.
Full-height turnstiles extend from floor to ceiling, creating a secure enclosure that prevents climbing over or crawling under. These are used in high-security environments such as factory perimeters, stadiums, and government facilities. They operate on the same credential-verification principle but provide a complete physical barrier.
Speed gates (also called flap barriers or glass wing barriers) use motorised glass panels that open and close rapidly — typically in under 0.5 seconds. These are designed for corporate lobbies and premium building entrances where aesthetics and throughput are priorities. Anti-tailgating sensors using infrared arrays detect when more than one person attempts to pass on a single credential.
All turnstile types include a fire alarm fail-safe mode that automatically unlocks or opens the barriers when the building fire alarm is triggered, ensuring unimpeded emergency egress. Integration with visitor management systems, building management systems, and time-and-attendance software is standard.
System Capabilities
Tripod Turnstiles
Three-arm rotating barrier for standard access control. Compact footprint, bi-directional operation, and high reliability for medium-security applications.
Full-Height Turnstiles
Floor-to-ceiling secure enclosure preventing all bypass attempts. Ideal for unmanned entry points and high-security perimeters.
Speed Gates
Motorised glass wing barriers with sub-0.5-second response. Elegant design for corporate lobbies with high throughput requirements.
Anti-Tailgating Detection
Infrared sensor arrays detect multiple persons attempting to pass on a single credential. Alarms and blocks passage for unauthorised followers.
Fire Alarm Fail-Safe
Automatic unlock and barrier retraction when building fire alarm is triggered, ensuring unimpeded emergency evacuation.
Integration Ready
Standard interfaces for access cards, biometrics, QR scanners, visitor management, and building management system integration.
